Japan has selected Daisuke Sumizawa to Longines Future Tennis Aces 2011 at the Roland Garros
On the strength of its previous experience and in line with the values it has always upheld, Longines has entered into a long-term partnership contract with Roland Garros as official partner and timekeeper for one of the four tennis Grand Slam tournaments - the French Open. Since 2009, Longines has organized the Longines Future Tennis Aces to look for the champions of tomorrow.
This project provides a chance for children having a great enthusiasm for tennis to play at Roland Garros, a dream stage for all the tennis players and fans. At the same time, it will be a great opportunity to seek out the champions of tomorrow.
Only 16 boys under the age of thirteen who are selected at every corner of the world are entitled to join this glorious tournament. Taking part from Japan will be Daisuke Sumizawa, the winner of the All-Japan Selected Junior Tennis Championships, one of Japan’s most prestigious junior tennis tournaments.
On May 22 (Sunday), the final of the tournament was held at the Yoshida Memorial Tennis Training Center in Kashiwa City, Chiba Prefecture. Daisuke Sumizawa was selected to represent Japan at the hallowed Roland Garros courts in 2011.
